2022 Spring Convocation
Saturday, May 14, 9:30 am to 3 pm Kalahari Convention Center, Sandusky Register here! Keynote: What Might God Be Calling Us To Now? So much has happened in the world and our church over recent years! As always, the question for faithful churches is who might God be calling us to become now? Looking toward the next ten years, Dr. Patricia Lyons will share three possible futures for the Episcopal Church based on the work of a major movie project to be released at this summer’s General Convention. We will preview excerpts from the film as she summarizes its findings and visions for the future from lay and ordained leaders across the country. This Virginia Theological Seminary documentary project takes seriously the impact of Covid-19, climate change, the struggle against racism, and the uncertain role of the local church. Within all that, it offers great hope in the contagious examples of small faith communities who are leading the way in intergenerational faith formation, life-giving liturgies, spiritual practices that feed the imagination, brave social justice, and creative evangelism. This is the conversation we need now. Your Choice of Six Afternoon Workshops: Please click here to explore the workshop options. Registration is $15 per person including lunch and morning coffee/tea. Doors open at 8:30 and the Convocation begins at 9:30. Kalahari Convention Center is located at 7000 Kalahari Drive Sandusky, OH 44870 And...it will be so great to be back together! Meeting and sharing with people from across our diocese is the best part of every Convocation! |
