About UsChrist Episcopal Church is "A Place of Grace". We desire to engage with Christ and our community to spread God's promise of hope, peace, joy, and love to the world. Our community of believers has been gathering to learn and share God's love since 1837.
Christ Church has a focus on outreach to our community. Our parishioners are involved in over 20 different ministries. As we grow, we are considering more opportunities in community outreach. These include involvement with our neighboring communities, the churches of Huron, and schools. |
What We Believe:
As Episcopalians, we believe:
- The Holy Scriptures are the revealed word of God, which inspired the human authors of the Scripture, and which is interpreted by the Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
- The Nicene and the Apostles Creed are the basic statements of our beliefs about God.
- The two great sacraments of the Gospel, given by Christ to the Church, are Baptism and the Holy Eucharist. In Baptism, we renounce Satan, repent of our sins, and adopt Jesus as our Lord and Savior. In the Holy Eucharist, the center of our worship life, we remember and participate in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ until his coming again.
- The historic episcopate continues the work of the first apostles in the Church, guarding the faith, unity, and discipline of the Church, and ordaining men and women to continue Christ’s ministry.
- The doctrine and forms of worship are inherited from the Anglican Church—the Church of England, and the Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Food PantryOur Little Free Food Pantry is located in front of the church on Ohio St. Our parishioners and people from the surrounding community, add food to it. People needing immediate support are free to take what they need. The pantry was created as a "community outreach" project by three art students from a Perrysburg school.

My Little LibraryThe Christ Church Little Free Children's Library provides children's books for the neighborhood and broader community. Parishioners and members of the community donate to the library for children to take home and read. While the Huron Library was closed during the health crisis, it was wonderful to see this was a blessing to a number of the children in the community.

Community Prayer Request BoxThe Community Prayer Request box was established as an opportunity for anonymous prayer requests from the community. The prayers are collected by our prayer coordinator and added to the weekly prayer list. It is always a joy when people come back to the box and share with us how their needs have been met.
You may also submit your prayer requests below: Missions and MissionariesWe also have an active involvement in Missions. We support Missionaries in the Middle East, Mexico, France, and Guatemala. We also pray for those engaged in opposing sex-trafficking in Northern Ohio.

Huron Food Pantry BoxAs a congregation, we have had a long term commitment to supporting the Huron Helping Hand Food Pantry. Each month donations are collected in the Donation Box on the steps of the Ohio St entrance, in baskets under the table or in the red shopping cart, in the entrance to the Sanctuary. On the last Sunday of the month a selection of items are brought forward, by the Ushers, at the time of the offering, and we pray that the Lord will bless these donations to those less fortunate than ourselves. Due to COVID-19, the church recently decided to place a box outside so people could safely drop off donations. This box is located by the Ohio St. entrance of the church. Our BeliefsWe Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As constituent members of the Anglican Communion in the United States, we are descendants of and partners with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and are part of the third largest group of Christians in the world.
We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world. We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation. We believe that God loves you – no exceptions. |
